A Roll's a Roll and a Toll's a Toll

Until a person can say deeply and honestly, 'I am what I am today because of the choices I made yesterday,' that person cannot say, 'I choose otherwise.' - Stephen Covey
As this newsletter reaches you, I am off in the mountains of Colorado. Hopefully I have no cell signal. Most likely I have thoroughly enjoyed all the fun activities this place has to offer and been thankful for a body capable of hiking, paddling, and carrying small children at high altitudes.
Within this newsletter you will find the highly-requested and fan-named Cinnabuns of Steel recipe. If you have been following long enough you have realized I experiment a little bit in the kitchen, often trying to add protein where I can. I do so without buying expensive, hard to find products (zero-calorie sweeteners or keto tortillas) and without compromising flavor. The macros aren't always perfect, but they are usually good enough to justify the delicious foods. Honestly, just double the recipe right off the bat.
Fit Tip: Fitness is For Everyone
Fitness if for everyone. I don't say this just to be all nice and inclusive. I want everyone to work out in some way, because our bodies need it. Oh, you are 'happy with your body how it is' ? Get off your high horse, you need to move too. Fitness is not just to get jacked, burn calories, look good, or get stronger. It's to relieve stress, get healthier, become smarter, feel good, stay mobile, or just have fun.
Do you turn the attention to your spouse every time someone pitches a fitness routine? You really think they need it and not you too? Perhaps if you worked hard consistently your example would be the motivation others needed. Set your own bar higher and wait patiently for them to follow. Fitness is a life long pursuit; it's a part of your life, not your whole life.
Ok, here's the nice inclusive part: You don't have to be a runner to run. You don't have to be a bodybuilder to lift weights. The gym belongs to everyone. That barbell platform is meant for you too, not just the regulars walking around with lifting belts and chalk-covered hands. You can and should play sports with people even if you suck. You can and should do some heavy squats even if you don't care about having a nice butt. Go find something active you like to do, and keep doing something.

August Challenge: Hip Mobility
We all sit too much and it's hard to avoid. Let's wake those hips back up with 2 minutes a day dedicated to some mobility drills. We have practiced the 90/90, the couch stretch, and the Cossack squat so far. This week let's combine those three! Try picking the one you struggle with the most.
Don't forget to also do some daily squatting. Find every excuse to get down in a deep squat and hang out.
Win the weekend!
